Academic and Professional Writing Course (ENGL 33000)
Graduate students seeking in-depth work on their writing may take the Writing Program's ten week course in advanced academic writing, Academic and Professional Writing (ENGL 33000) a.k.a. the Little Red Schoolhouse. This course addresses the needs of writers who must communicate complex information with clarity and grace, and who must make clear why their work is valuable enough to fund or to publish.
The Graduate Writing Initiative
The Writing Program is partnering with UChicagoGRAD to offer writing support to graduate students across the divisions. The Writing Program offers graduate writing consultations as well as a series of workshops that teach graduate student writers to recognize and diagnose writing issues common to expert writing, along with revision techniques for addressing them.
- Graduate Writing Consultations (one-on-one sessions)
- Structured Writing Accountability Groups (SWAG)
- Graduate Writing Workshops
