How To Book An Appointment

Writing Tutors are available to work with Humanities, Social Sciences and Civilizations Core students. Core students can book a Writing Tutor appointment in advance, and appointments are released every Friday for the following week. Appointments are not required; however, during busy times such as mid-terms and finals, we suggest booking an appointment. The Writing Tutors are located on the 3rd Floor of Harper Memorial Library, in the Cathey North Reading Room. To book an appointment:

All Tutors work with papers from all Core courses, but if you prefer to work with a particular Tutor, consult the schedule.

If no appointments are available, you may drop-in on the day you’d like to be seen and put yourself on the waitlist (see How To Drop-In).

When You Arrive: Check-In

Before your appointment starts, you must check in via the link in your Appointment Reminder email, or via the Check-In link posted near Cubicle 18. You’ll be asked a few brief questions about who you are and what you’re working on. (The check-in window starts 30 minutes before your appointment.)

Once you check-in, have a seat. The Tutor will call your name when they are ready to begin.

No-Show Policy

If you do not arrive for your appointment within 5 minutes of the start time, your appointment will be cancelled. If your appointment is cancelled, you can put yourself on the waitlist (see How To Drop-In), or book an appointment for the following day.
